Love Song & Freedom Dance – Salim Dada

Salim Dada’s Love Song and Freedom Dance are the two first works for string orchestra that he composed between 2007 and 2008. In these youthful works, we already find a great mastery of the chamber writing techniques with an inventive treatment of traditional Algerian and Arabic music. These two scores present a charming combination between modal and harmonic music, lyricism, virtuosity, rhythm and cheerfulness, works that propose a syncretistic paradigm of the 21^st century Mediterranean music.

Since their creation on June 7^th, 2008, in the Italian Tirolo by the Conductus Ensemble/Marcello Fera, Love Song and Freedom Dance continue to travel the world and seduce both musicians and spectators.
